BINGO VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

WHERE DO I GO?

First of all...thanks for volunteering! Three days before the bingo date that you have signed up for, you will receive a reminder notice from Signup.com or directly from someone on the Parent Guild. This reminder will include the date, time, and casino (either Club Regent Casino or McPhillips Station Casino). On your assigned day go to the McDonald's restaurant located inside the casino. In the restaurant there will be someone sitting there with a clipboard on the table. His name is Clark. Sign in with him and just prior to the bingo starting, a casino employee will provide brief training on the expectations for the evening.

WHAT WILL I BE EXPECTED TO DO?

Bingo volunteers are tasked with selling special game cards, generally worth $1 each, to the bingo players. Casino staff are there throughout the night to assist with any issues. Volunteers are not expected to do anything beyond selling the special game cards. Volunteers are not allowed to sit throughout the evening so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. As well, volunteers are not allowed to use their cell phones while working. They allow the volunteers to have their phones with them but ask that they leave the bingo area to use them.

WHO WILL BE I VOLUNTEERING WITH?

We are expected to supply 2 volunteers for each bingo evening. You can sign up with a partner or just as yourself. On Signup.com you will see the name of the other St.Maurice volunteer that will be working that night. In addition to our school, there will be two volunteers from another Winnipeg area independent school. Often times it's a great opportunity to talk to other parents and learn about their schools.

WHAT DO I DO AT THE END OF THE EVENING?

When the card sales are complete you will be required to hand in your unsold cards and money and are then free to go home.
